Love Handle is a fun, high energy, entertaining band with local roots, which has performed on various stages in the greater Milwaukee area, including Summerfest. The band plays audience favorites from different rock genres spanning the past few decades - Love Handle's goal is to get all ages on their feet! The band members come from varied musical backgrounds including classic rock, alternative rock, Christian rock, blues rock, heavy metal and even polka. This eclectic mix of experience means that each member brings unique perspective and talent.
Love Handle members: Kara Phillips - Lead Vocals Kara grew up singing in her church choir and in various groups at Slinger High School and in college. She currently sings in her church praise band and enjoys working with the fantastic kids at West Bend High Schools as a school counselor.
Jim Tews - Drums Jim is a local resident of West Bend. He has been playing drums since he was a student at Slinger High School. For the past fourteen years Jim has been jamming in local bands. He is excited to play at Music on Main in his hometown!
Doug Rogers - Saxophone, keys, acoustic guitar, vocals, harmonica (and anything else he can find laying around) Doug, a local resident of Jackson, has been playing professionally in numerous bands his entire life after studying music in college. He has an abundance of energy and is always moving…so the band does their best to keep up!
Tim Jaeke - Lead Guitar and vocals Tim is a local resident of Hartford. His musical influences include everything from the Beatles to Rush. Tim's favorite piece of equipment is a 1972 Martin D18 and his biggest fear is that after he dies his wife will sell his guitars for what he told her he paid for them.
Chris Turner - Bass Guitar Chris hails from nearby Lannon and has been rocking in bands since his early days at Brookfield High School. He no longer sports the impressive mullet from days past, but he knows how to strut his stuff with that sweet bass guitar.
